It was right to defend Melissa Poulton against the horrifying transphobic attacks on her, led by a Tory MP. However, as a result of the consequent publicity some communications she made during her pre-transition life have come to light that are not consistent with Green values. For this reason, Melissa will not be standing as a candidate for the Green Party in the general election.
